Fruitvale ISD is a Systemic Model for 21st Century School Transformation in Texas. The district is partially supported in this effort by Educate Texas, a public/private partnership established by the Governor’s office to support Early Colleges and STEM Academies, as a P16 college and career readiness initiative within the Texas Public Education System. As a result of the developmental process, the district has evolved away from the 20th Century concept of an Independent School District into more of a System Model approach.

Currently, Fruitvale ISD partners with two two-year higher education partners, Trinity Valley Community College in Athens Texas and University of Texas of the Permian Basin, as well as the original parent organization for Early College and T-STEM, Educate Texas. This Systemic Model approach will enable Fruitvale ISD to better provide students with the resources necessary to engage in a much more globally competitive educational and work force environment, than students heretofore have experienced, upon graduation from high school. It is the goal of Fruitvale ISD to become a model that can be replicated by other small and rural schools in Texas interested in 21st Century School Transformation. As a STEM Academy, we are preparing to go the extra mile to bring students real world relevance so vital for a strong foundation in critical work shortage fields involving science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Fruitvale ISD has been designated by TEA as a District of Innovation, Industry Cluster Innovative Academy planning school and is Texas School Safety Certification Compliant.  We boast the UIL JH/HS Academic District Champions and have been recognized in the Texas School Business magazine 11^th annual bragging rights 2017-2018 issue for our Employability Program.

Fruitvale ISD is a 2A school district located on Hwy 80 in Van Zandt County.  Fruitvale ISD has a full day Headstart and Prekindergarten program available to families. We have many organizations including FFA, Junior FFA, Student Council, National Honor Society, Band, and Yearbook. We also have a Gifted and Talented program and a strong UIL academic program at all levels.

Fruitvale ISD Athletics has football, basketball, baseball, track, cross country, golf and power lifting offered for the boys program.  For the girls program we offer volleyball, basketball, softball, track, cross country, golf, and power lifting.  We offer a cheerleading program to encourage athletic teams on campus.
